Skin Health 101: Do You Really Need to Wash Your Face?

The simple answer: yes! If you want to help keep your skin looking its best, one of the most important steps in your skin care routine must include washing your face with a facial cleanser. You should wash your face when you wake up and before you go to bed to maintain bright, beautiful skin. Taking proper care of your skin can boost your confidence. Healthy and clean skin can make you feel better overall—both inside and out!

Throughout the day and even during the night, excess oil, dirt, makeup and sweat collect on the surface of the skin. Simply splashing your face with water is not enough to remove the impurities from the skin’s surface. Regular skin cleansing is critical to removing that unwanted layer of dirt and oil from the face, jaw, and neck area. Skin and beauty professionals all agree: 20- 30 seconds of proper skin cleansing twice a day (once in the morning and once at night) is a must to achieve naturally radiant skin.

Everyone’s skin is different, though. Still, whether you have dry skin or oily skin (or a combination of both), everyone benefits from a good skin care regimen. This includes choosing the right cleanser for your skin. With literally hundreds of cleansing products to choose from, keep in mind the following tips for fresh, healthy skin:

• Use a gentle, non-exfoliating cleanser in the morning to avoid stripping the skin of its natural oils.

• Use an exfoliating cleanser at night to remove any dead cells and grime before going to bed.
